Jubiläumswarte, Observation tower in Gaaden, Austria.
The Jubiläumswarte is a metal observation tower near Gaaden standing 20 meters tall at an elevation of roughly 653 meters. From the viewing platform, visitors look out over surrounding hills and the valley below.
The tower was built in 1898 by nature conservation societies as a way to give hikers a better view of the landscape. Since then it has been repaired several times, with major work done in 2021 to strengthen the structure.
The tower's name comes from an anniversary celebration of Vienna's nature societies that met in this region. Today it serves as a gathering spot for hikers who pause to share views and stories of their outdoor adventures.
The tower is reached by marked hiking trails starting from Mödling that pass near the Mödling Aqueduct and go through pine forests. The path is manageable on foot and offers several places to rest along the way.
On clear days, visitors from the tower can spot distant mountain peaks like Schneeberg, Rax, and Schöpfl in the distance. This far-reaching view lets you understand the full scope of the surrounding mountain region.
