Wild- und Erlebnispark Ferleiten, Wildlife park and adventure grounds in Fusch an der Großglocknerstraße, Austria.
Wild- und Erlebnispark Ferleiten is a mountain wildlife park near the Grossglockner High Alpine Road where about 250 animal species live in natural enclosures. The grounds spread across 15 hectares at 1151 meters elevation and offer numerous viewing points for visitors.
This facility was created to protect alpine wildlife and bring visitors closer to nature, growing into a regional conservation project. In 2019, a shared enclosure for bears and wolves opened, reflecting the natural return of these species to Alpine mountains.
Educational stations throughout the grounds teach visitors about mountain ecosystems and local wildlife as they walk. You encounter native animals in settings that reflect how they naturally live in these peaks.
The park opens from May through November with well-marked paths connecting viewing areas and animal enclosures. Wheelchair-accessible sections allow visitors with mobility needs to experience much of the grounds.
Beyond the animal area sits a large adventure play ground with approximately 40 different play structures, which visitors often do not expect. This blend of wildlife viewing and play facilities makes the grounds particularly engaging for families.
