The Star Theatre is a movie theater in Invermay featuring geometric patterns and vertical lines from the 1930s located on Invermay Road. The facade displays typical Art Deco features that are immediately noticeable.
The building was designed by architect Guy Crick from the firm Crick & Furse and opened its doors in the 1930s. It became an important new venue for cinema and entertainment in the area.
The theater maintains its cinema tradition while hosting community gatherings and film club sessions that bring locals together throughout the year.
The building is easy to locate and has a direct street entrance. The interior is accessible and accommodates different types of visitors comfortably.
The interior retains its original hidden neon lighting system that subtly highlights the architectural elements. This authentic 1930s installation is rarely found in buildings today.
