Ghosties Beach

Ghosties Beach is a coastal strip along the Pacific Ocean in central New South Wales, bordered by tall sand dunes and steep cliffs that form a natural boundary. The landscape creates a sheltered setting with distinct geological features on either side.

The area was protected as the Munmorah State Conservation Area to safeguard the coastal landscape of New South Wales. This designation helped preserve the natural formations and geological character of the location.

The beach is maintained by local efforts focused on keeping the environment clean and natural through regular community care. You can see this dedication in how well the sand and surroundings are preserved.

Reaching the beach requires a walk of roughly 1.6 kilometers from the parking areas at Hooey Street or Surfside Drive in Catherine Hill Bay. The route is straightforward and well-marked, making access manageable for most visitors.

The shoreline contains two large sea caves that open up during low tide, each with its own character and features. The southern cave has a narrow slot canyon entrance that makes it stand out from the other.
