Buško Blato, Artificial reservoir in Tomislavgrad Municipality, Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Buško Blato is an artificial reservoir in Tomislavgrad Municipality, located at 716 meters above sea level. The water body covers approximately 55.8 square kilometers and stores substantial water volumes for hydroelectric purposes.
The reservoir was created in 1974 through the construction of a dam to generate electricity, flooding large areas of agricultural land. This project connected the region's power supply to water management control for decades to come.
Local communities around the lake maintain traditions of regional cooking, where meat dishes are prepared using time-honored methods. Residents use the lake's location as part of their daily life and livelihood.
The lake allows visitors to swim, sail, and fish in suitable conditions. The best time to visit is during warmer months when water temperature is comfortable and conditions favor outdoor activities.
Despite its enormous size and storage capacity of about 782 million cubic meters, the lake remains unknown to many visitors. This quietness makes it a peaceful place for those who discover it.
