Late antique basilica in Cim, the archaeological site

The archaeological site contains the remains of a stone basilica with one nave, three apses, a narthex, and a baptistery extending across three floor levels.

Built during the 5th to 6th century AD, the basilica served as a religious center and burial ground throughout the late antique period and Middle Ages.

Archaeological excavations revealed decorative fragments depicting vines, grapes, peacocks, fish, and cross symbols, reflecting early Christian artistic expressions in the region.

The basilica stands at III cimske bojne bb in Mostar, with its remains displaying original flooring in the southern section and excavated areas in the north.

Three significant individuals were interred in a special tomb of power located within the central apse of the presbytery section.
