Nivelles-Baulers, race track
Nivelles-Baulers is a motorsport racing track located in the village of Baulers, just outside the town of Nivelles in the Belgian province of Walloon Brabant. The circuit features a layout of curves and straight sections that can be used for different racing disciplines and driver training.
The track was built in the early 1970s and hosted a Formula 1 Grand Prix in 1972, which turned out to be the only one ever held there. After that event, the circuit continued to be used for smaller series and training sessions rather than top-level international racing.
Motorsport fans from across the region come to Baulers to watch races or take part in driving sessions on the track. The connection between local drivers and the crowd gives the place a grounded, no-frills energy that is easy to feel.
Anyone planning to drive on the track should check the safety requirements in advance and bring the right protective gear. The circuit sits close to Nivelles and is most easily reached by car, with parking available on site.
The 1972 Formula 1 race held here was won by Emerson Fittipaldi, and that result helped him clinch his first world championship title that same year. It is one of the few times a Grand Prix was held in Walloon Brabant, making the circuit a small but real part of Formula 1 history.
