The roller coaster opened in July 1992 under the name Colorado and received its current name Calamity Mine during a rebranding in 1998.
The ride incorporates mining themes throughout its design, reflecting the industrial heritage through its brown track structure and decorative elements.
Three trains with five cars each operate simultaneously on the track, allowing the attraction to accommodate 1,600 passengers every hour.
The coaster features a water effect where water splashes upward as the train passes over the central lake section of the track.
