Vertigo, Suspended roller coaster at Walibi Belgium, Wavre, Belgium
Vertigo featured individual cars suspended from an overhead track system, stretching across 2,369 feet and reaching heights of 180 feet.
The roller coaster began operations on June 14, 2007, but due to persistent technical difficulties, it permanently closed on May 19, 2008.
Belgian action star Jean-Claude Van Damme participated in the May 2008 reopening ceremony of the roller coaster at Walibi Belgium.
The mountain glider design accommodated eight trains with four passengers per row, processing up to 800 riders every hour during operation.
The vertical elevator lift mechanism raised riders to the maximum height before releasing them onto the track at speeds of 37 miles per hour.
