The cathedral extends 110 meters in length and 37 meters in width, featuring a pentagonal apse and Gothic architecture throughout its three naves.
Bishop Eraclus initiated the construction of the original church in 967, which later underwent major reconstruction between the 13th and 15th centuries.
The interior combines Meuse bluestone with yellow tuffeau from Maastricht and limestone from Lorraine, creating a distinctive architectural composition.
The cathedral maintains daily opening hours from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with regular religious services at 9:00 AM on weekdays and 10:00 AM on Sundays.
The cathedral houses a treasury containing religious artifacts relocated from Saint Lambert's Cathedral after its destruction during the French Revolution in 1795.
