Mahymobiles, Automobile museum in Leuze-en-Hainaut, Belgium.
Mahymobiles is an automobile museum in Leuze-en-Hainaut displaying over 300 vehicles across six exhibition halls. The collection includes cars, trucks, motorcycles, bicycles, and carriages spanning from 1895 to modern times, with complete vehicles, engines, and mechanical parts on view.
Ghislain Mahy founded Belgium's first car rental business in 1938 and started collecting vintage vehicles shortly after. The collection expanded significantly during the 1950s when he purchased numerous historic automobiles at low prices following the Korean War.
The museum illustrates transportation evolution through different eras with complete vehicles, chassis, engines, and miniature models in dedicated educational spaces.
The museum opens from April through September and offers guided tours in several languages to help visitors understand the vehicles better. Groups and children receive special rates, making it more accessible for families and organized visits.
Many vehicles in the collection were purchased as scrap metal in the 1950s and painstakingly restored, showing how valuable these pieces have become. The founder rescued machines from the melting pot that now serve as witnesses to transportation history.
