Abbaye de la Paix Notre-Dame

Abbaye de la Paix Notre-Dame is a baroque abbey in Liège featuring two distinct naves separated by a wrought iron grille. The larger nave serves public worship while the smaller one remains reserved for the community of nuns.

The abbey was founded in 1627 by nuns from Namur, with the church constructed between 1687 and 1690 following plans created by nun Aldegonde Desmoulins. The involvement of a religious sister in designing such an important structure was rare for that period.
