IT Tower, High-rise office building in south extension of Brussels, Belgium.
IT Tower is a modern office high-rise in south Brussels standing 102 meters tall across 25 floors. The building pairs a solid concrete service core housing elevators and utilities with a glass-enclosed office section designed for light-filled workspaces.
Architect Walter Bresseleers designed the tower between 1968 and 1971 for the International Telephone and Telegraph Corporation. The project exemplifies the period when modern office towers transformed the southern edge of Brussels.
The construction generated discussions about urban development priorities, leading to increased awareness about architectural heritage preservation in Brussels during the 1970s.
The building includes six elevators and a striking entrance hall standing 7.70 meters high, designed with a glass cube and interior garden. The location near major transit connections makes it easy to reach from different parts of the city.
The structure is composed of two adjacent towers: a blind concrete service core and a glass office section, creating an asymmetrical profile when viewed from certain angles. This functional separation between utility zones and workspaces was a thoughtful design approach for its era.
