Passerelle La Belle Liégeoise is a 294-metre steel bridge with a wooden deck that crosses the Meuse, linking the Guillemins district to Parc de la Boverie. Its main span is 163 metres, the deck is 7 metres wide, and the maximum height is 8 metres. On the park side, one branch continues suspended above the trees, while another descends between the Schöffer tower and the water-sports building near the aviary.
Construction began in May 2014 and was planned to finish in autumn 2015, but technical problems, including a crane cable break during installation, pushed completion to late April 2016. The steel framework, made of six sections, was brought by barge from a temporary assembly site opposite Île Monsin and assembled on site from 1 to 3 August 2015. The bridge was inaugurated on 2 May 2016.
The bridge is named after Anne-Josèphe Théroigne de Méricourt, a Liège-born feminist and figure of the French Revolution nicknamed "La Belle Liégeoise". Before the name was chosen, it was often called Guillemins-Boverie. It is used daily by cyclists and walkers crossing between the Guillemins district and Parc de la Boverie.
Access is provided through ramps with a maximum slope of 4 percent, making the bridge easy to use for people with mobility difficulties. The wide surface allows cyclists and pedestrians to move comfortably side by side.
The bridge's steel frame was delivered by barge in six sections from a temporary assembly site opposite Île Monsin, and a crane cable snapped during installation, adding to the delay. The deck is wooden, and the maximum height is 8 metres, not 23.
