Beisbroek Castle, Protected castle in Sint-Andries, Belgium
Beisbroek is a castle set within a 98-hectare estate featuring pastures, deciduous woodland, and walking paths throughout the grounds. The property borders the Tudor Municipal Domain and offers a mix of built and natural spaces for visitors to explore.
The building was constructed in 1836 by Edouard de Nieulant and remained under family ownership until 1973. It then transitioned to public ownership, opening its doors to visitors.
The castle houses a nature center offering educational programs about local ecology and environmental conservation to school groups and individual visitors. People come here to learn about the plants and wildlife found in the surrounding woodland area.
The castle is open Monday through Thursday from 14:00 to 17:00 and on Sundays from 14:00 to 18:00. Access is fully wheelchair-friendly throughout the entire property.
The grounds are home to Cozmix, a public observatory where visitors can use telescopes to observe stars and celestial objects. This facility makes the estate a meeting point between science and nature.
