Centre-Est Region, Administrative region in central Burkina Faso.
Centre-Est Region is an administrative area in central Burkina Faso comprising three provinces with different settlement patterns. The region extends across an area with Tenkodogo as its administrative center and numerous smaller towns and villages throughout.
The area took its current form when Burkina Faso reshaped its administrative boundaries in the early 21st century. This reorganization followed the nation's path to independence and the development of a new governing structure.
The region is home to Mossi and Peul communities who each follow their own way of life. Farmers work the land with methods passed down through generations, while herders move with their cattle across the grasslands following seasonal patterns.
The best time to visit is during the dry season from October to May, when roads are easier to travel. Access to many settlements becomes more challenging during the rainy season between June and September due to water crossings and soft ground.
The region contains diverse soil types and landscapes ranging from savanna-like plains to gentle hills. This variety allows different farming activities within a relatively small area and creates different habitats for wildlife.
