Belovo Basilica

Belovo Basilica is a three-nave church ruin from the 6th century built with brick and stone, rising among densely forested mountains. The structure displays red brick arches and multiple columns that divide the interior into different sections.

The basilica was founded in the 6th century as part of a monastery in a strategic location between several historical regions. It was later abandoned and its remains were first studied scientifically in the early 20th century.

The name reflects an early Christian settlement that took root in this remote mountain region. The remains show how believers gathered in this isolated location to practice their faith together.
