Popinolashki waterfall

Popinolashki waterfall is a cascade in the Pirin Mountains where water plunges down a steep rocky face for about 15 meters. The fall originates from the Bashliitsa River and drops through a forested area surrounded by the convergence of several mountain streams.

The Bulgarian government designated this area as a protected natural landmark in 1965 due to its environmental importance. This official recognition helped preserve the site and its surroundings for future generations.

The waterfall and its surrounding forest represent a meeting point for nature enthusiasts who gather to observe the diverse bird species of Bulgaria.

The waterfall can be reached by following marked trails that start from the village of Lilyanovo in the mountain region. The hike passes through forest terrain, so sturdy footwear and attention to the path are advisable.

The water flows steadily throughout the year, regardless of seasons or dry periods. This constant stream makes the site a reliable destination to visit at any time.
