Karadere beach, Natural beach near Byala, Bulgaria
Karadere Beach is a natural sand beach along Bulgaria's Black Sea coast near Byala, extending for several kilometers with fine light-colored sand. Steep rocky cliffs at both ends frame the shoreline and create a dramatic natural boundary.
The beach remained undeveloped during Bulgaria's coastal construction boom in the latter 20th century. While resorts and villages expanded nearby, this stretch kept its original natural state.
The beach draws people seeking nature without crowds or development, offering a rare escape from the typical seaside resort atmosphere. Visitors come here to experience the Black Sea coast as it exists away from commercial zones.
Access is via rough unpaved tracks from Byala or Goritsa village, making a sturdy vehicle advisable for getting there. The site has no shops, cafes, or facilities, so bring everything you need for the day.
Sections of the beach are used by swimmers who prefer swimming without clothes, making it a destination for alternative beach experiences. This use has developed informally and adds to the reputation as a place outside standard seaside conventions.
