Добридолски манастир, Orthodox monastery and church near Dobri Dol, Bulgaria
Dobridol Monastery is an Orthodox monastery and church in Bulgaria with a single-nave structure topped by a dome. The walls feature carved reliefs depicting humans, birds, and archangels.
The monastery was rebuilt multiple times and underwent major restoration in 1610 by Pimen Zografski following destruction during the Chiprovtsi Uprising. This repair work preserved the structure for centuries to come.
The icons and iconostasis were painted in 1860 by artists from the Debar Art School, showing traditional Bulgarian Orthodox painting styles. Visitors can see these characteristic works directly displayed on the church walls.
The monastery sits about 4 kilometers south of Dobri Dol village along the main road between Lom and Vidin. Its location on this main route makes it fairly accessible to visitors.
A spring believed to have healing properties flows near the monastery and is dedicated to Saints Cosmas and Damian. This sacred water source is often overlooked by visitors despite its spiritual significance.
