Скално-култов комплекс с.Бенковски

The sanctuary extends across several square kilometers between Benkovski, Dedets, and Dobromirci villages, featuring natural volcanic rock formations with carved niches and channels.

The archaeological site dates back to the Early Iron Age when Thracian tribes used this location for religious ceremonies and burial practices.

The complex contains multiple rock structures resembling animals, including formations known as The Lion, The Crocodile, and The Mushroom, which were integral to ancient rituals.

Located 12 kilometers from Zlatograd on the road to Kardzhali, the site features information panels and directional signs for visitors throughout the complex.

The rock sanctuary includes numerous kidney-shaped depressions carved into the stone, reaching depths between 5 to 10 meters below the surface.
