Oborishte Monument, Protected historical area in Oborishte, Panagyurishte, Bulgaria

The Oborishte Monument is a memorial in the Oborishte locality near the village of Oborishte, Panagyurishte municipality, Pazardzhik district, marking where the Oborishte Assembly met in 1876 to discuss the preparation and declaration of the April Uprising. It stands within a protected area of 203.8 hectares in the Sredna Gora, reached by a roughly 1 km trail from the Oborishte hut.

The Oborishte Assembly met in this locality in 1876 to discuss the preparation and declaration of the April Uprising. The area was declared a protected historical locality by Council of Ministers Resolution No. 1171 of 24 September 1951, enlarged by Order No. 256 of 25 February 1969 and recategorized by Order No. RD-422 of 3 April 2003.

The name comes from the Oborishte Assembly held here in 1876, where delegates discussed preparations for the April Uprising. Each year on 2 May the locality hosts national commemorations of that assembly, drawing visitors to the monument in the Sredna Gora range.

The monument stands in the Oborishte locality near the village of Oborishte, Panagyurishte municipality, Pazardzhik province. A tourist path about 1 km long leads to it from the Oborishte hut. National commemorations are held here every year on 2 May.

The protected area covers 203.8 hectares and was first declared by Council of Ministers Resolution No. 1171 of 24 September 1951, then enlarged in 1969 and re-categorized in 2003. Its stated aims combine preserving the Sredna Gora landscape and birdlife with the memory of the 1876 assembly.
