The Théâtre du Nouveau Monde operates from a renovated building on Sainte-Catherine Street, presenting French-language performances in a 850-seat auditorium.
Founded on October 9, 1951, by Jean Gascon and Jean-Louis Roux, the company first performed at the Gesù before moving to its current location in 1972.
The theater maintains a repertoire of classical plays and contemporary works, presenting both French masterpieces and adaptations of international literature throughout each season.
The venue offers several subscription packages, guided tours for groups, and educational programs for students from primary school through university level.
The building underwent extensive renovations in 1997 by architect Dan Hanganu, who preserved the original facade while modernizing the interior performance spaces.
