Toronto Botanical Garden, Botanical garden in North York, Toronto, Canada

Toronto Botanical Garden is a garden grounds with seventeen different themed sections across about four acres, connected by pathways throughout the property. The space displays collections of native plants and ecological displays with informatively designed areas.

The garden was founded as a center for horticultural education and has grown to include specialized plant collections and learning areas. Its founding focused on teaching the public about gardening and local ecosystems.

The garden displays regional plant types and invites visitors to explore native flora up close. You can see how local species grow together in nature and what role they play in the ecosystem.

The garden is open daily from sunrise to sunset with no admission fee for visitors. The site is wheelchair accessible, and pathways are well-developed to navigate the grounds comfortably.

The visitor center features a green roof built to LEED Silver standards, showing how modern buildings can be both ecologically sustainable and functional. This roofing design is itself a living part of the gardens and demonstrates green building techniques in action.
