Korean War Memorial Wall, War memorial in Brampton, Ontario, Canada
The Korean War Memorial Wall is a war memorial in Brampton, Ontario that honors 516 Canadian service members who died during the Korean War. The structure spans approximately 200 feet long and stands about 2 feet high, constructed entirely from gray Barre granite.
The memorial was inaugurated on July 27, 1997, after the Korea Veterans Association of Canada organized a fundraising campaign with support from private donors. This effort represented a long-standing goal to properly honor those lost during the Korean War.
The central panels display military insignias and written tributes, while the side sections hold bronze plaques that resemble gravestones in their arrangement.
The memorial is located at Meadowvale Cemetery and curves gently to follow the natural contours of the ground. The gray granite surface allows visitors to read the names and inscriptions from various viewing angles and distances.
The memorial features a rectangular central block positioned between two sloping wings, angled backward at roughly 50 degrees. This distinctive architectural arrangement creates a visually striking profile that stands out when viewed from different parts of the cemetery.
