Lac Beauchamp Park

Lac Beauchamp Park is a public space built around a large lake with multiple kilometers of paths through forest and open areas. It offers opportunities for swimming, fishing, walking, and winter sports like cross-country skiing.

The park originated in the mid-20th century when the city wanted to establish public green spaces for recreation. Since then it has remained a core part of Gatineau's outdoor landscape.

Visitors can rent boats, canoes, skis, and snowshoes at the building near the free parking at the main entrance. The best visit times are May through September for water activities and December through March for winter sports.

The lake freezes solid in winter and becomes a natural platform for ice skating and ice fishing activities. This seasonal change shows how the entire experience transforms based on the time of year.
