Parc Michel-Chartrand, Urban park in Le Vieux-Longueuil, Canada.
Parc Michel-Chartrand is a large landscape park with three artificial lakes, extensive woodlands, and open meadows spread across about 185 hectares on the edge of Montreal. The grounds feature varied natural areas with paths and spaces designed for outdoor activities and exploration.
The site was established in 1975 as Base de plein air de Longueuil and received its current name in 2010 to honor Quebec labor activist Michel Chartrand. This renaming recognized a figure who fought for workers' rights in the region.
The park regularly hosts nature workshops, guided walks, and outdoor concerts that bring together residents from surrounding neighborhoods throughout the year.
In winter, visitors can travel on about 12.5 kilometers of cross-country skiing paths, while warmer months offer around 10 kilometers of hiking trails. Different seasons provide varying options for outdoor activities along the available routes.
The park maintains several community gardens where local residents grow vegetables and flowers in designated plots. These gardens show resident involvement in local food growing and community life.
