Port Arthur Collegiate Institute, Heritage high school building in Thunder Bay, Canada
The Port Arthur Collegiate Institute building features medieval and Flemish architectural elements constructed with Simpson Island stone on Red River Road.
The educational facility opened its doors in September 1910 and served Thunder Bay students continuously until its closure in June 2007.
Memorial plaques and photographs in the main floor hallway commemorate former students who lost their lives during both World Wars.
The structure includes additions from 1925 and 1954, plus a gymnasium from 1972, offering expanded educational spaces for different activities.
Lakehead University transformed the building into a law school facility in 2008, maintaining its educational purpose while preserving its heritage status.
