Taylor Head Beach, Coastal park in Sheet Harbour, Canada.
Taylor Head is a coastal park that stretches about 6 kilometers into the ocean, connecting long white sand beaches with rocky cliffs. The property features walking trails that pass through varied landscapes and open onto different sections of coastline.
This area became home to British loyalists who arrived after the American Revolution in the early 1800s. Traces of their settlement, including graves and building remains, are still visible in the landscape today.
The name comes from a local family with deep roots in this area, and visitors today experience how different coastal zones support distinct plants and wildlife. Walking the trails, you notice how people move through forests, marshes, and rocky shores as natural connected spaces.
The park is mainly open for day visits from May through October and offers covered picnic areas, restrooms, and parking. Marked trails make it easy to navigate and reach different parts of the coastline without getting lost.
An educational program called Alien Safari invites visitors to search for unusual life forms while exploring different habitats along the coast. This hands-on experience helps people discover the diversity of local ecosystems in an engaging way.
