Morris Island Conservation Area

Morris Island Conservation Area spans 47 hectares across forests and wetlands, with sheltered bays and small islands scattered throughout. The site is managed by the Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority in partnership with Ontario Power Generation and the City of Ottawa.

The Mississippi Valley Conservation Authority established this area as a joint effort with Ontario Power Generation and the City of Ottawa. This partnership created a protected natural space along the river to benefit both wildlife and the community.

The area serves as a place where visitors learn about local ecosystems through interpretive signs and guided nature programs. These programs help people understand the habitats that exist here.

The site has about 6 kilometers of marked trails, fishing platforms, and modern washroom facilities for visitors. Parking is available on site to make your visit straightforward.

The area features multiple fishing platforms built over the water where anglers can catch pike and perch. While fishing, visitors can also watch birds flying over and around the water.
