Confederation Beach Park, Public park in Hamilton, Canada
Confederation Beach Park is a large urban park along Lake Ontario's shore featuring extensive trails, sports facilities, and recreational attractions. The grounds span about 93 hectares and include dining options and various activities for visitors of all ages.
The Hamilton Conservation Authority took over management of this waterfront property in 1980 through a formal agreement with the City of Hamilton. This partnership shaped its development into a modern recreation area with ongoing infrastructure improvements.
The park includes a memorial for sailors lost in Lake Ontario shipwrecks, honoring the region's maritime past. This monument draws visitors interested in understanding the connection between the city and the waterfront.
The grounds are accessible by public transit, bicycle paths with bike-share stations, and a parking area for about 290 vehicles. Visitors can easily find multiple entrances and choose the best access option based on their needs.
Phase 2 construction in 2022 added a fieldhouse, cricket batting cages, and natural play areas to the grounds. These newer additions provide more activity options for different age groups and interests.
