Saint Nicholas Serbian Orthodox Cathedral

The cathedral features a Serbo-Byzantine architectural design with a mosaic entrance on Barton Street and an Ikonostas adorned with forty painted icons.

Founded in 1913 as the first Serbian Orthodox parish in Eastern Canada, the current cathedral building was constructed in 1974 at Barton and Division Streets.

The cathedral maintains regular liturgical services, educational programs through its Church School, and traditional celebrations of Nash Krst throughout the year.

Located at the intersection of Barton Street East and Division Street, the cathedral includes a banquet hall for community events and gatherings.

The interior frescoes, painted between 2000 and 2001 by Fr. Theodore Jurewicz from Erie, Pennsylvania, demonstrate traditional Orthodox ecclesiastical artistry.
