Avenue D'Estimauville, Public artery in Quebec City, Canada

Avenue D'Estimauville is a major north-south street in Quebec City that extends approximately 2200 meters, linking the Felix-Leclerc Highway to the Dufferin-Montmorency Highway. The road is lined with health and social service buildings alongside retail spaces that have served the community for decades.

The northern section was developed in the mid-1800s as Route de l'Asile to provide access to the Quebec Mental Asylum. This original purpose shaped the street's role as a corridor for institutional services for generations afterward.

The street received its name in 1917 to honor Jean-Baptiste-Philippe-Charles d'Estimauville, a prominent official in Quebec's early development. This choice reflects how the city commemorates figures who shaped its infrastructure and governance.

The street runs in a straight line between two major highways, making it easy to navigate by car or transit. Traffic can be heavy during rush hours, and parking availability varies depending on which section you visit.

The Galeries de la Canardiere shopping center opened in 1960 as the city's second major mall. This development marked a shift in how residents shopped and spent their leisure time in the growing urban area.
