Chad Basin, Endorheic basin in Central Africa.

The Chad Basin spans 2,335,000 square kilometers across Chad, Niger, Nigeria, and Cameroon, bordered by the Tibesti Mountains and Air Mountains.

Archaeological evidence indicates human settlements in the Chad Basin dating back 8,000 years, with agricultural practices emerging around 1000 BC.

The basin contains numerous ethnic groups, including the Kanuri, Maba, and Hausa people, who maintain traditional fishing and farming practices.

The northern section consists of desert regions, while the southern part features dry savanna and wetlands with increasing rainfall patterns.

The basin formerly contained an ancient sea that covered 400,000 square kilometers and reached depths of 180 meters.
