Harderkulm, Mountain viewpoint in Unterseen, Switzerland.
Harderkulm is a mountain peak at 1,322 meters high with views of Lake Thun, Lake Brienz, and the mountains Eiger, Mönch, and Jungfrau. At the top are a restaurant, a terrace, and walking paths that lead to different viewpoints.
The funicular railway to the summit opened in 1908, marking the start of tourism development in the Interlaken area. The railway made it possible for more people to visit the mountain peaks and lakes of the Bernese Alps.
The mountain restaurant serves traditional Swiss Alpine food, and visitors can enjoy the views through large windows while eating. The terrace is a popular gathering spot where hikers and day-trippers stop to take in the surroundings.
A funicular railway takes visitors to the summit in about ten minutes and runs daily from April to November. It is helpful to check the schedule ahead of time and be flexible if weather conditions change.
A glass platform called the Two-Lake Bridge extends out over the cliff edge, allowing visitors to see both lakes at the same time. This spot creates a striking feeling of height and offers an unusual perspective on both bodies of water.
