Vaillant Arena, Ice hockey arena in Davos, Switzerland
Vaillant Arena is an ice hockey venue in Davos featuring a 60 by 30 meter rink and seating for around 7,000 spectators across multiple tiers. The facility accommodates both ice hockey matches and speed skating events.
The facility opened in 1979 as Eisstadion Davos, replacing an outdoor rink where local teams had trained and competed. Since then it evolved into a center for international ice hockey in the region.
The venue has hosted the Spengler Cup for many years, one of the world's oldest ice hockey tournaments that brings international teams together each winter. Over time it became a symbol of sporting tradition in this mountain community.
The arena is located in Davos Platz at Talstrasse 41 and is accessible by public transport or car. Note that the high mountain location and alpine climate create specific conditions for any visit.
The arena sits at 1,560 meters in elevation, a location that created favorable conditions for speed skaters and enabled numerous world records until 1997. This record-breaking heritage remains part of the venue's sporting story.
