New château, Baroque château in Gerzensee, Switzerland.
The New Château is a baroque building in Gerzensee located on the southern slope of Belpberg mountain with views toward the lake and distant mountains. The white-painted structure features regular window rows and classical proportions, now operating as a hotel with dining facilities.
Samuel Morlot designed this building around 1700 as a residence with baroque features for a wealthy family. The structure gained national importance when the Swiss National Bank acquired it in 1980.
The château serves as a study and research center that attracts professionals from around the world interested in banking and economics. The spaces support this scholarly exchange and create an environment for serious intellectual work.
The building is accessible as a functioning hotel where guests can explore the spaces and stay overnight. The restaurant and public areas welcome visitors for meals and events throughout the day.
A former boathouse by the lakeshore is now used for receptions and private meetings while retaining its original character. This smaller companion structure provides an intimate setting for special occasions directly on the water.
