Castle with outbuildings

Built in 1550 by Hans Franz Nägeli, the castle underwent substantial modifications between 1749 and 1753, transforming its medieval structure into a refined residence.

The property maintains its status as a Class B Swiss cultural monument, serving as a museum that displays regional artifacts and hosts exhibitions about local history.

Visitors can reach the castle through regular bus services from Bern, with guided tours available on weekdays between April and October by advance reservation.

The former castle barn from 1782 now functions as a public library and community center, while the 1847 slaughterhouse serves as an event venue.
