The Il Spir observation platform extends over the Ruinaulta gorge, offering views of the Vorderrhein river 400 meters below the viewing point.
Constructed in 2006, the platform stands above the Flims Rockslide area, which formed through geological processes spanning millions of years.
The platform's architectural design references the shape of a swift bird, a common species that nests along the southern faces of the gorge.
Visitors can reach Il Spir through a one-hour hike from Flims-Waldhaus or by taking a Swiss postbus service from Trin-Mulin station.
The structure balances on a single pylon with wire rope support, creating an elevated vantage point that overlooks the largest visible rockslide worldwide.
