Description
Burg Belmont is a castle ruin perched on a rocky peak in Grisons at approximately 1,240 meters in elevation. The site features a main tower, defensive ring walls forming semicircular patterns, and scattered stone foundations across the uneven terrain.
History
The castle originated around the year 1000 and served as a residence for the Barons of Belmont. The family eventually abandoned the site to settle in another fortress closer to Castrisch.
