Katholische Kirche Arosa

The Catholic Church of Arosa stands at the intersection of Sonnenbergstrasse and Hohenfelsstrasse, featuring stone walls and red-painted wooden interior elements.

Built in 1936 to serve the growing Catholic population, this church replaced an earlier 1907 structure that had become insufficient for the community.

The church contains a main altar made of Poschiavo serpentine stone and displays detailed mosaics depicting the life of the Virgin Mary.

The parish serves approximately 800 members across the Schanfigg region, including communities of St. Peter, Pagig, Molinis, Peist, Langwies, and Litzirüti.

The construction cost 372,127.40 Swiss francs in 1936, incorporating both traditional and modern architectural elements into its cubic design.
