Feldmoos-Chli-Titlis Aerial Tramway, Material ropeway in Bern, Switzerland.
The Feldmoos-Chli-Titlis Aerial Tramway was a transport system in the Bern Alps that connected two mountain stations across steep terrain. The installation used five support towers and spanned a diagonal distance of approximately 4,675 meters.
The system was built in 1979 by Swiss company Habegger to transport materials and people to a communication facility on Chli Titlis peak. It was later dismantled in 1986 after ceasing operations.
The tramway reflects Swiss engineering excellence through its dual-purpose design, accommodating both cargo transportation up to 3.8 tons and passenger service for 20 people.
Since the system was decommissioned in 1986, it no longer exists and is no longer operational today. Those interested in its history can research its technical specifications and engineering achievements through historical records.
One remarkable feature was the extreme span between support towers, particularly the unsupported section of approximately 3,467 meters. This engineering achievement made the system a record holder among similar installations worldwide.
