Former Grand Hotel, Hotel des Alpes, Historic hotel building in Territet, Switzerland

This former Grand Hotel and Hotel des Alpes comprises two connected buildings with substantial windows and detailed ornamental work positioned directly on Lake Geneva's shore. The structures display the architectural characteristics typical of upscale hotels built during the 1800s.

The original building opened in 1841 under the name Chasseur des Alpes and developed into Hotel des Alpes by 1855. The two establishments merged into one connected complex in 1877.

The complex earned recognition as a Class A Swiss cultural property, representing the evolution of luxury hospitality during Switzerland's tourism development period.

The complex sits directly on the lakeside and is easily accessible from Avenue de Chillon. Today different parts serve various purposes following its transition away from hotel operations in 1975.

This building housed Switzerland's first telephone installation when it opened in 1879, marking a major technological milestone for the country. The site later served as a recording studio in 1971 for a legendary rock album.
