Testa della Forclaz is an Alpine summit in the Cottian Alps that rises to 1,980 meters and offers views across the surrounding mountain ranges. The ascent passes near Baita Pian Croesio, a mountain shelter located approximately 547 meters below the peak, which provides rest and facilities for mountaineers during their climb.
The peak served local populations as a natural orientation point for centuries when crossing mountain passes through the Piemont region. Its location made it an important reference marker for trade routes and passages through the Alps.
The mountain area maintains traditional Alpine practices, where residents combine agriculture, livestock farming, and seasonal tourism activities throughout the year.
