Zermatt - Breuil-Cervinia, Connected ski resorts in Valtournenche Valley, Italy and Valais, Switzerland.
Breuil-Cervinia Ski Paradise is a linked ski area spanning the border between Italy's Valtournenche Valley and Switzerland's Valais region. The domain features 360 kilometers of slopes with 54 lifts reaching elevations up to 4,000 meters (13,123 ft).
These resorts began development in the 1930s with the installation of the first mechanical lifts on both slopes of the Matterhorn. Over time, the connection between the Italian and Swiss sides expanded, transforming the area into one of the Alps' largest linked networks.
The resorts blend Swiss infrastructure standards with Italian hospitality and regional cooking. You notice this mix in the mountain restaurants, where menus feature dishes from the valleys on both sides of the border.
Year-round skiing is possible on the glacier, with the best snow conditions from December through April and summer runs at high elevations. The slopes are divided by difficulty level, allowing both beginners and experienced skiers to find suitable runs.
Skiers can begin a descent in Switzerland and finish on the same run in Italy, crossing an international border multiple times without returning to the top. This cross-border skiing experience is rare in the Alps and adds a distinctive character to days spent here.
