Gornergrat Kulm Hotel

The Gornergrat Kulm Hotel stands at 3,100 meters elevation in the Swiss Alps, featuring two towers equipped with research telescopes for space observation.

The first structure appeared in 1896 near the railway, followed by the current building construction from 1897 to 1907 to meet increasing tourist demand.

Scientists and astronomers gather at the hotel's observatory throughout the year to conduct research using the KOSMA telescope in the southern tower.

Guests reach the hotel by taking a shuttle train from Täsch to Zermatt, followed by the Gornergrat cogwheel railway to the terminus station.

The facility combines a high-altitude hotel with two astronomical domes installed in 1996, offering both accommodation and scientific research capabilities.
