Piz d'Agnel, Alpine summit in Grisons, Switzerland

Piz d'Agnel rises to 3,205 meters in the Albula Alps, featuring steep rocky slopes and a glacier on its northern face called Vadret d'Agnel.

The mountain stands as a geographic marker in the development of Swiss mountaineering routes, with documented climbs dating back to early Alpine exploration.

The name Piz reflects the Romansh language heritage of the Grisons region, where multiple linguistic traditions merge in mountain nomenclature.

Mountaineers access the peak through marked T3 trails, requiring advanced hiking skills and proper equipment for high-altitude Alpine conditions.

The summit provides views of Lake Marmorera, a water reservoir that submerged the original village of Marmorera in the 1950s.
