Omega Museum, Watchmaking and history museum in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland

The Musée Omega is a watchmaking and history museum in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland, dedicated to the story of the Omega brand. It occupies the first floor of the Cité du Temps, a curved modern building designed by Japanese architect Shigeru Ban, set between older Omega buildings and the Swatch headquarters.

The Omega brand was founded in 1848 and has long been based in Biel/Bienne, where it developed its reputation for precision timekeeping. The museum opened in 2019, giving the company's long history a dedicated space for the first time.

The Omega Museum follows a narrative line structured around a 50-meter-long steel bracelet that runs through the entire exhibition space. Along this bracelet, 64 display cases show the key milestones of the brand, from early pocket watches to modern models.

Admission to the museum is free, and audio guides are available in several languages including English, French, German, Italian, Spanish, Portuguese, Russian, and Mandarin. Groups of 10 or more need to book their visit in advance by email.

Inside the museum, there is a 9-meter running track where visitors can time themselves using the same timing technology that Omega uses at the Olympic Games. This makes the visit an active experience, not just a walk past display cases.
