Funivia San Carlo-Robiei

The cable car spans 4039 meters, connecting San Carlo at 1052 meters elevation to Robiei station at 1905 meters in the Ticino canton.

Built in 1964, the cable car facilitated the construction and maintenance of several hydroelectric facilities, including the Robiei power plant and Zött dam.

The alpine region accessible by the cable car contains traditional mountain huts and shelters that reflect the historical importance of alpine farming.

The lift operates during summer months and transports approximately 20,000 visitors annually in a cabin that accommodates up to 96 passengers.

The elevated station provides direct access to numerous alpine lakes and hiking trails at the base of the Basodino glacier.
