Anyang

Anyang is a prefecture-level city in northern Henan with mountainous terrain in the west and lowland areas in the east. The Anyang River flows through the region, creating distinct geographical zones across the landscape.

Anyang served as the capital of the Shang dynasty around the 14th century BCE, confirmed by archaeological discoveries at Yinxu. The area became an important center of early Chinese civilization and governance.
